Middletown – The Pennsylvania Lottery today reminded players that pooling their tickets can be a fun way to play responsibly with nearly $300 million in multi-state game jackpots on the line over the next two nights.

Drawn tonight, the Mega Millions® jackpot offers an estimated $95 million annuity and a $64.7 million cash prize. For Saturday night, the Powerball® jackpot is worth an estimated $203 million annuity and $115.5 million cash.

“Pooling ticket purchases with friends, coworkers or family members is a great way to play responsibly and have fun while chasing the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots,” said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. “We’ve introduced downloadable ‘Pool Play’ forms on our website as a convenience to our players.”

Available on www.palottery.com, Pool Play forms for Powerball and Mega Millions may be downloaded in PDF format and printed on a home printer. The forms list the current jackpot level and next draw date, as well as offering space to list the names of up to 30 pool participants.

How to play Powerball: Players pay $2 and select five white balls from the first set of 59 numbers plus a single red ball, the Powerball, from a second set of 35 numbers. Players may select their own numbers using a Powerball playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn plus the Powerball number to win the jackpot. There also are eight additional ways for players to win a cash prize.

Powerball is sold in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How to Play Mega Millions: Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one number from 1 to 46 (the Mega Ball). Players can pick their own numbers or have numbers randomly selected by computer. For an extra $1 per play, players can add the Megaplier. Prior to the Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier number – ranging from two to four – is randomly selected.
A player who matches five white balls and purchased Megaplier wins $1 million.  Other non-jackpot prizes are multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn.
