PA Lottery Players Vie for Over $356 Million in Jackpots This Week

Middletown – Pennsylvania Lottery players are vying for jackpots worth a combined total of more than $356 million over the next three nights.

Tonight’s Mega Millions® jackpot has an annuity value of $106 million and a cash prize of $71.8 million.

The Powerball® jackpot carries an annuity value of $245 million and a cash prize of $136.3 million for Wednesday night.

And the jackpot for the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Match 6 Lotto game, sold only in Pennsylvania, is now worth $5.6 million for Thursday night – the third-highest level on record. The current jackpot run for this game began in mid-May.

“Pennsylvania Lottery retailers are reporting brisk ticket sales, so we want to remind players to purchase their tickets early to avoid any last-minute rush,” said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. “We also remind players to please play responsibly while chasing their jackpot dreams.”

Mega Millions tickets remain on sale until 9:59 p.m. tonight. Tickets for the next Powerball drawing will be available until 9:59 p.m. Wednesday evening. Match 6 Lotto ticket sales will end at 6:57 p.m. on Thursday evening.

How to Play Mega Millions: Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one number from 1 to 46 (the Mega Ball). Players can pick their own numbers or have numbers randomly selected by computer. For an extra $1 per play, players can add the Megaplier. Prior to the Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier number – ranging from two to four – is randomly selected.

A player who matches five white balls and purchased Megaplier wins $1 million.  Other non-jackpot prizes are multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.

How to play Powerball: Players pay $2 and select five white balls from the first set of 59 numbers plus a single red ball, the Powerball, from a second set of 35 numbers. Players may select their own numbers using a Powerball playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn plus the Powerball number to win the jackpot. There also are eight additional ways for players to win a cash prize.

Powerball tickets are sold in 43 states, Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

How to Play Match 6 Lotto: Match 6 tickets cost $2 each. Players can choose six numbers from 1 to 49 or have numbers randomly selected by computer. The computer will then randomly select an additional two sets of six numbers, for three lines of six numbers each or 18 numbers total. Players can win up to four times on each ticket – once on each of three lines (base play) and by combining all 18 numbers (combined play).

Match 6 Lotto is a Pennsylvania Lottery game that is drawn on Monday and Thursday evenings.
