PA Lottery Cash 5 Prize Worth $275,000 Soon to Expire
Unclaimed, Jackpot-Winning Ticket was Sold in Northampton County

Middletown – Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 players, check your tickets: a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth $275,000 from the Aug. 28, 2012, drawing is nearing its expiration date.

This prize must be claimed by Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, because Cash 5 prizes expire one year from the date of the drawing.

“We encourage players to always scan every ticket -- even those they think may not be a winner,” said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. “Whether you are holding a major prize or a $1 win, we do not want to see any prize go unclaimed.”

Players may check their own tickets using self-service scanners located at retailers and also found on Lottery self-service play terminals. Rucci reminded players to sign tickets before presenting them to a retail clerk.

The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 11-14-19-37-41, to win $275,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. It was sold at Hess Express, 3622 Route 378, Bethlehem, Northampton County.

The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by Wed., Aug. 28 at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at headquarters.

By law, unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.

In the 2011-12 fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $23.2 million to programs that benefit Northampton County’s older residents.
