PA Lottery Quinto Jackpot Worth $50,000 Soon to Expire -
Unclaimed Ticket Sold in Blair County
Middletown – Check your tickets: a jackpot-winning Quinto ticket worth $50,000 from the May 23, 2013, evening drawing is approaching its one-year expiration date. It must be claimed by Friday, May 23, 2014.
The Quinto ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 7-9-1-0-5, to win $50,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. It was sold at Sheetz, 718 Bellwood Road, Altoona, Blair County.
“We want every winner to claim their prize – after all, that’s why people play Lottery games,” said Lottery Executive Director Sil Lutkewitte. “We hope this Quinto winner comes forward before the $50,000 prize expires.”
Players may check their own tickets using self-service scanners located at retailers and also found on Lottery self-service play terminals. The Lottery reminds players to sign tickets immediately upon their purchase for proof of ownership.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a timely claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at headquarters.
By law, unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.
In the 2012-13 fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $15.9 million to programs that benefit Blair County’s older residents.
How to play Quinto: To play Quinto, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 0 to 9. Players may select their own numbers using a Quinto playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Numbers can be played boxed, straight, front pair, back pair, and in other combinations. A straight wager for any five digits in exact order pays $50,000. Quinto drawings are held twice a day, at mid-day and evening, seven days a week. Tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-100,000.
