Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® Ticket Worth $150,000 Sold in Delaware County as Jackpot Climbs to $620 Million

9/30/2021
Estimated Powerball® Jackpot $620 million; $446 million cash value for Saturday’s drawing

Middletown, PA – A Pennsylvania Lottery retailer in Delaware County sold a Powerball® with Power Play® ticket worth $150,000 for the Wednesday, September 29 drawing.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls drawn, 2-7-11-17-32, and the red Powerball 11 to win $150,000, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play option, the ticket would have been worth $50,000. The Power Play multiplier drawn was three.

ShopRite of Brookhaven, 5005 Edgmont Avenue, Brookhaven, earns a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

More than 111,900 other PA Lottery Powerball® tickets won prizes of various amounts in the drawing, including more than 23,900 tickets purchased with Power Play® and more than 10,400 tickets purchased with Double Play®. Players should check every ticket, every time.

The Powerball® jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $620 million, or $446 million cash, for the next drawing on Saturday, October 2. This is the highest the Powerball® jackpot has been since January when a $731.1 million jackpot was won in Maryland. If won, this would be the 6th largest jackpot in the Powerball® game’s history.

This will be the first Powerball® jackpot awarded since the game launched Monday drawings with Double Play® on August 23.

The Powerball jackpot has been rolling for nearly four months. The jackpot was last won in Florida in the June 5, 2021 drawing. Saturday’s drawing will be the 40th draw in the jackpot run.

Pennsylvania Lottery players have options to purchase their Powerball® tickets online or by visiting a retailer. Players can find lottery-selling locations closest to them by visiting the Find a Retailer section of the Lottery’s website.

Additionally, pooling ticket purchases with friends can be a fun way to play responsibly. To help players manage their pooled ticket purchases, Pool Play forms are available at www.palottery.com.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. The holder of the winning ticket should sign the back of the ticket and contact the nearest Lottery office.
