People age 65 or older can ride fixed-route public transit for free, while commuter rail trips are $1 each. Seniors age 65 or older also qualify to use shared-ride, demand-responsive services at a reduced rate.
In 2013-14, more than $162.2 million in Lottery funds provided for nearly 34.7 million free transit rides and more than 3.9 million shared rides.
On average, the Lottery helped provide more than 105,000 free and reduced-fare shared rides for older Pennsylvanians, every day.
