PA LOTTERY OFFICIAL WILD BALL

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A: Wild Ball is an optional add-on feature for PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4 and/or PICK 5 that gives you more chances to win on your favorite play types!

Q: What does it cost to add Wild Ball?

A: Adding Wild Ball doubles the cost of your PICK play. If your play costs $1, adding Wild Ball to it will bring the total ticket cost to $2.

Q: How do I add Wild Ball to my PICK play?

A: Before you buy your PICK ticket, make sure you ask the clerk to add Wild Ball to your play or fill in the Wild Ball box on your playslip. Where available, you can also purchase a PICK ticket with Wild Ball through a Lottery self-serve vending terminal found at many retailers.

Q: How does Wild Ball work?

A: At every Day and Evening drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery will draw a one-digit Wild Ball number that applies to all four PICK games for that drawing. If your ticket was purchased with the Wild Ball option, the Wild Ball number drawn can replace another number drawn by the Lottery to help create a winning combination for your play. The numbers on your ticket do not change. You must match the numbers on your ticket to one of the new winning combinations created by the Wild Ball number.

Q: How is the Wild Ball number selected?

A: At every Day and Evening drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery will randomly draw a one-digit Wild Ball number prior to the regular PICK drawings. The player does not select an actual Wild Ball number. Rather, the player selects whether to add the Wild Ball option to their play.

Q: Which numbers can the Wild Ball replace?

A: To help create a winning combination for your play, the Wild Ball number that we draw can be used in place of one of the other numbers drawn by the Lottery for base play. It cannot be swapped for the numbers that you picked and does not change the numbers on your ticket.

Q: Can I just replace one number with any other number to win?

A: No. Only the Wild Ball number that we draw may be used, and it does not change the numbers on your ticket. The Wild Ball number can only replace another number that we draw.

Q: How do I win using Wild Ball?

A: Click here to see a demonstration.

Q: Are Wild Ball prize payouts different than those for regular PICK play?

A: Yes. Wild Ball payouts and prizes do differ from regular play. Click here to view Wild Ball payouts and prizes.

Q: Can a PICK ticket purchased with Wild Ball win from both prize tiers?

A: Yes! Assume you play a $1 straight PICK 3 play with Wild Ball and your numbers are 2-5-3. Now assume the Pennsylvania Lottery draws winning numbers of 2-5-3 with a Wild Ball number of 2. You matched the winning numbers straight, so you would win $500. Since you also added the Wild Ball feature, you can also use that Wild Ball number to replace any one of the regularly-drawn numbers to create additional winning combinations for your play. So, you could replace the 2 in the winning numbers with the Wild Ball 2 to match the winning numbers straight using the Wild Ball. Since you used the Wild Ball to match the numbers, you would win an additional $200, for a total of $700 in winnings for that play! Click here for more details.

Q: Have the prizes and payouts changed for PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4 and/or PICK 5?

A: No; there are no changes to the base games. You can keep playing PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4 or PICK 5 as if nothing changed. If you did not add the Wild Ball option, you’d simply play your game the same way you’ve been playing it.

Q: How can I see the Wild Ball and PICK drawings?

A: The animated Day drawing for PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4, PICK 5 and Wild Ball, is available for viewing at palottery.com each day after 1:35 p.m. The live TV drawing for PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4, PICK 5 and Wild Ball, happens each evening at 6:59 p.m. Click here to check local listings.

Q: Will my old playslips still work, even if I don’t add Wild Ball?

A: No. Whether or not you choose to add Wild Ball, you must replace your playslip. Old playslips will not work as of September 13, 2016. New playslips are available at all retailers. The new playslip includes a box allowing you to add the Wild Ball option, if you wish.

Q: How long do I have to claim my PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4 or PICK 5 prize (with or without Wild Ball)?

A: All PICK tickets, whether they include the Wild Ball option or not, must be claimed within one year of the drawing date.

Q: Can a PICK ticket with Wild Ball be canceled if a mistake is made?

A: As with all other terminal-based games offered by the Pennsylvania Lottery, PICK tickets may not be canceled. Please use a playslip to ensure the accuracy of your ticket purchase.

Q: When playing a PICK game with Wild Ball, can I Quick Pick my numbers?

A: Yes, you can request a Quick Pick (QP) and have the terminal randomly select your numbers for you. You’ll simply need to tell the clerk whether or not you’d like to add Wild Ball to your play.

Q: Can I buy PICK 2, PICK 3, PICK 4 or PICK 5 tickets (with or without Wild Ball) for future draws?

A: Yes! As has always been the case, when purchasing a PICK ticket, you can select the number of future draws you wish to play, if any. You can play up to seven (7) days in advance. If you add Wild Ball, the Wild Ball option will apply to all plays on that ticket.

Q: Is the REPLAY feature available on PICK tickets with Wild Ball?
