Cash 5 Ticket Worth Record $1.57 Million Sold in Somerset County

Jan. 9, 2011, is a day that will go down in Pennsylvania Lottery history. That’s because it’s the day that Ronald Flickinger, of Somerset, bought some Cash 5 tickets on a whim.Cash 5 Ticket Worth Record $1.57 Million Sold in Somerset County

“Rather than wait until the next morning to fill up, I stopped Sunday to buy gas,” said Flickinger, who owns a tire shop. “I noticed the Cash 5 jackpot was high, so I bought some tickets.”

That lucky coincidence made Flickinger a very happy man when he scanned his tickets the next day and found he’d won the $1.57 million Cash 5 jackpot – the largest won by a single ticket in the game’s history.
