15 Co-workers Share $1 Million Powerball Prize
(L-R) Liz Pavelchak, Linda Golden, Carter Stanley: three members of The Quad 15 who came to Lottery headquarters to claim the $1 million Powerball prize.
Linda Golden, of Gettysburg, Adams County, didn’t get discouraged when the March 24 Powerball tickets she purchased for her office pool won just $4.
Without telling her co-workers at Quad Graphics in Fairfield, she went to Sunoco on Deatrick Drive in Gettysburg to buy another two tickets for the March 27 Powerball drawing – and won $1 million.
After the drawing, she checked her tickets, including several she had purchased just for herself, but it was a ticket she’d bought for the group that was the big winner.
“It would have been just as easy for her to claim that ticket as her own,” said Liz, a co-worker and Quad 15 lottery pool member. “She’s our angel.”
“Character is what you do when no one is looking,” said Carter, another pool member. “Everyone in that pool has a good use for their share.”
The Quad 15 winners have different plans for their winnings, ranging from paying medical bills to building new families and new homes.
“It was truly meant to be, and we are all blessed,” Linda said.
Congratulations to the Quad 15!
