Any Pennsylvania resident age 65 or older can ride fixed-route public transit for free, while commuter rail trips are $1 each. Seniors age 65 and older also qualify to use shared-ride, demand-responsive services at a reduced rate. For information on these programs, please call 717-783-8025.
In the 2009-10 fiscal year, the Lottery dedicated more than $157 million to provide for more than 36 million free transit rides and 4 million shared rides, averaging more than 111,000 free and reduced-fare rides for older Pennsylvanians, every day.
