The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $12 million and gets bigger and bigger until somebody wins. Mega Millions tickets are sold only as annuity tickets, which means equal annual cash payments over 25 years (26 payments). Jackpot winners can elect (within 60 days of filing a claim) to take the present cash value of the jackpot amount in one lump-sum payment. Aside from the big jackpot, players can win money eight other fun-filled ways.

How to Play.

  1. Visit your local Pennsylvania Lottery retailer and pick up a Mega Millions ticket. (Don't forget the Megaplier® option for an additional dollar.) You can purchase up to 13 weeks (26 drawings) in advance. Your cost increases with each drawing date you add. Only consecutive draws are available and players cannot skip to future draws.
  2. You can play from one ($1) to all five ($5) game-grids on your play slip. On each game-grid select five numbers from 1 to 56 in the top section for each game-grid and select one number (your Mega Ball) from 1 to 46 in the bottom section of each game-grid you wish to play. Or, select the Quick-Pick option to have your numbers randomly selected by the computer.
  3. Be sure to check your ticket to verify that the information is correct and legible.

Remember, cut-off time for purchase of a Mega Millions ticket is 9:59 p.m. on drawing days (Tuesday and Friday). You may view the Mega Millions drawings on Tuesday and Friday night on the following stations:
