Powerball

It's always a big Jackpot.

The Powerball jackpot starts at $20 million and gets bigger and bigger until somebody wins. Powerball tickets are sold only as graduated annuity tickets, which means increasing annual cash payments over 29 years (30 payments). Jackpot winners can elect (within 60 days) to take the present cash value of the jackpot amount in one lump-sum payment. Aside from the big jackpot, players can win money eight other fun-filled ways.

How to play.  demo2

  1. Visit your local Pennsylvania Lottery retailer and pick up a Powerball ticket. (Don't forget the PowerPlay option for an additional dollar.) You can purchase up to 13 weeks (26 drawings) in advance. Your cost increases with each drawing date you add.
  2. You can play from one ($1) to all five ($5) panels on your play slip. On each game panel select five numbers from 1 to 59 in the top grid and one number (your Powerball) from 1 to 39 in the bottom grid. Or, select the Quick-Pick to have your numbers randomly selected by the computer.
  3. Be sure to check your ticket to verify that the information is correct and legible.

Remember, cut-off time for purchase of a Powerball ticket is 9:59 p.m. on drawing days (Wednesday and Saturday). You may view the Powerball drawings on Wednesday and Saturday night on the following stations:
