PA Lottery Prize Worth More Than $300,000 to Expire Sept. 13 - Unclaimed, Jackpot-Winning Cash 5 Ticket was Sold in Luzerne County
Middletown – Time is running out for the holder of a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth more than $300,000 from the Sept. 13, 2010, drawing to claim the prize.
The ticket and prize will expire one year from the date of the drawing.
The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 07-08-25-33-40, to win $330,000, less 25-percent federal withholding. It was sold at Fuel on Drums, 6 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Luzerne County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by Sept. 13 at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery’s seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. In the 2009-10 fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $39.2 million to programs that benefited Luzerne County’s older residents.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
