PA Lottery Prize Worth $275,000 to Expire Feb. 17 - Unclaimed, Jackpot-Winning Cash 5 Ticket was Sold in Philadelphia
Middletown – Feb. 3, 2011 - Time is running out for the holder of a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth $275,000 from the Feb. 17, 2010, drawing to claim the prize.
The ticket and prize will expire one year from the date of the drawing.
“The deadline for turning in this winning ticket is just two weeks away,” said Drew Svitko, Lottery interim executive director. “We encourage anyone with Cash 5 tickets from last February to check them again, and if someone finds a winner, sign the ticket immediately and bring it in for validation.”
The soon-to-expire Cash 5 ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 01-03-06-08-18, to win $275,000, less 25-percent federal withholding. It was sold at DSK Corporation, 5205 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by Feb. 17 at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery’s seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. Last fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $235 million to programs that benefited seniors in Philadelphia.
How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
