PA Lottery Treasure Hunt Prize Worth More Than $83,000 to Expire Oct. 8 - Unclaimed, Jackpot-Winning Ticket was Sold in Washington County
Middletown – The holder of a jackpot-winning Treasure Hunt ticket worth more than $83,000 from the Oct. 8, 2010, drawing has only limited time remaining to claim the prize.
The ticket and prize will expire one year from the date of the drawing.
“The deadline for claiming this prize is fast approaching, and we’d like to be able to award these winnings,” said Todd Rucci, Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director. “I encourage players to check any old Treasure Hunt tickets they may still have in hopes someone discovers an $83,000 surprise this fall, before it’s too late.”
The soon-to-expire Treasure Hunt ticket correctly matched all five numbers drawn, 05-07-09-25-30, to win $83,374, less 25 percent federal withholding. It was sold at Suzie B’s, 950 S. Central Ave., Canonsburg, Washington County.
The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages the ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim by Oct. 8 at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery’s seven area offices. Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices.
Because the prize expires on a Saturday, the last chance to file a claim in person will be Friday, Oct. 7; a claim submitted by mail must be postmarked by Saturday, Oct. 8.
Unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians. In the 2009-10 fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $19.9 million to programs that benefited Washington County’s older residents.
How to play Treasure Hunt: To play Treasure Hunt, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 30. Players may select their own numbers, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Treasure Hunt drawings are held seven days a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-142,506; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-5.45.
