Five Mega Millions® Tickets Worth $250,000 Each Sold in York, Jefferson, Washington and Philadelphia Counties - Jackpot-Winning Tickets Sold in Kansas, Illinois, Maryland; Next Jackpot $12 Million

Middletown – The Pennsylvania Lottery sold a record five tickets worth $250,000 each for the March 30 Mega Millions drawing. The tickets were sold at the following locations:

    Rutters, 2125 Susquehanna Trail, York;

    Mike’s Bilo, 32 S. Fifth St., Reynoldsville, Jefferson County;

       7-Eleven, 444 Route 519, Eighty Four, Washington County;

    Philly’s News Stand, 3302 S. Convention Ave., Philadelphia; and

    Wister Beer Distributor, 5765 Wister St., Philadelphia.

Each ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 02-04-23-38-46, but not the yellow Mega Ball 23, for a prize of $250,000, less 25 percent federal withholding.

Each retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling a winning ticket.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identities of the winners until the prizes are claimed and the tickets are validated. Mega Millions winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County, or at any of Lottery’s seven area offices.

Claims may be filed at headquarters Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices.

The March 30 Mega Millions jackpot carried a world-record $640 million annuity value or $462 million cash prize. Jackpot-winning tickets were sold in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland.

Last fiscal year, the Pennsylvania Lottery awarded $58.2 million, $9.1 million, $29.2 million and $271.5 million in prizes to York, Jefferson, Washington and Philadelphia counties, respectively. The Lottery also contributed about $27.9 million to programs that benefited seniors in York County, $5.3 million to programs benefiting Jefferson County seniors, $19.7 million to programs benefiting seniors in Washington County and another $215 million to Philadelphia County seniors’ programs.

How to Play Mega Millions: Mega Millions tickets cost $1 per play. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 56 and one number from 1 to 46 (the Mega Ball). Players can pick their own numbers or have numbers randomly selected by computer. For an extra $1 per play, players can add the Megaplier. Prior to the Mega Millions drawing, the Megaplier number – ranging from two to four – is randomly selected. 

A player who matches five white balls and purchased Megaplier wins $1 million.  Other non-jackpot prizes are multiplied by the Megaplier number drawn.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 44 participating jurisdictions. Drawings are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.
