PA Lottery Marks May as Older Pennsylvanians Month, Thanks Players

Middletown – Recognizing May as Older Pennsylvanians Month, the Pennsylvania Lottery today thanked its players for making possible more than $22.6 billion in lottery-funded benefits for older adults since 1972.

“The Pennsylvania Lottery benefits older Pennsylvanians – every day – and those vital benefits and services would not be possible without the support of lottery players,” said Lottery Executive Director Todd Rucci. “PA Lottery games offer players a way to have fun while also making a positive difference in the lives of older adults.”

Lottery-funded benefits for income-eligible older Pennsylvanians include:

• Property tax and rent rebates provided through the Department of Revenue;
• Free transit and reduced-fare shared rides;
• Low-cost prescription assistance offered through the PACE and PACENET programs;
• Long-term living services; and
• Numerous services offered by the state’s 52 Area Agencies on Aging, including hundreds of full- and part-time senior centers.

The Pennsylvania Lottery’s nightly televised drawing, which routinely highlights information about benefits and services for older adults, will include several messages about Older Pennsylvanians Month during the month of May.
