PA Lottery Match 6 Lotto, Cash 5 Players Vie for Millions in Prizes Tonight

Middletown – Prizes totaling $7 million are up for grabs in tonight’s Pennsylvania Lottery’s Match 6 Lotto and Cash 5 drawings.

At $6 million, tonight’s Match 6 Lotto jackpot is the second-highest on record. A $6.9 million prize won in the March 23, 2007 drawing still holds the record.

No one has hit the Match 6 jackpot since one ticket matched all six winning numbers in the May 13 drawing.

The odds of winning the Match 6 Lotto jackpot are roughly 1-in-4.6 million, among the Pennsylvania Lottery’s best odds of winning a multimillion-dollar jackpot.

Tonight’s Cash 5 jackpot is $1 million. It has been growing since Sept. 13, when one ticket won a $700,000 jackpot prize.

Both games will be drawn tonight during the Lottery’s 6:59 p.m. televised drawing.

How to Play Match 6 Lotto: Match 6 tickets cost $2 each. Players can choose six numbers from 1 to 49 or have numbers randomly selected by computer. The computer will then randomly select an additional two sets of six numbers, for three lines of six numbers each or 18 numbers total. Players can win up to four times on each ticket – once on each of three lines (base play) and by combining all 18 numbers (combined play).

Match 6 Lotto drawings are held on Monday and Thursday evenings.

How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
