Pennsylvania Lottery Sells Jackpot-Winning Cash 5 Tickets in Four Counties 

Middletown – Four jackpot-winning Cash 5 tickets worth a total of more than $1.85 million were sold in Westmoreland, Butler, Philadelphia and Perry counties.

For the Friday, Oct. 10, drawing, one jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth more than $1.5 million was sold at Jeannette Distributing, 1317 Penn Ave., Jeannette, Westmoreland County. It correctly matched all five balls, 22-29-39-41-42, to win a jackpot of $1,501,426, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $10,000 selling bonus.

For the Saturday, Oct. 11, drawing, two winning Cash 5 tickets split a $125,000 jackpot. Each ticket correctly matched all five balls, 03-07-10-33-36, to win individual prizes of $62,500, less 25 percent federal withholding. The selling locations were Tony Dilulio’s Exxon, 517 S. Main St., Zelienople, Butler County; and Discount Plus Variety, 15 S. 60th St., Philadelphia.

There was no jackpot winner in the Sunday, Oct. 12, Cash 5 drawing.

For the Monday, Oct. 13, drawing, one jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket worth $225,000 was sold at FBF Gas and Convenience Store, 6746 Veterans Way, Ickesburg, Perry County. It correctly matched all five balls, 13-14-17-33-36, to win a jackpot of $225,000, less 25 percent federal withholding. The retailer will receive a $500 selling bonus.

The prizes must be claimed and the tickets validated before the winners can be identified. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Lottery encourages each holder of a jackpot-winning ticket to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County.

Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at area offices and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at headquarters.

In the 2012-13 fiscal year, in addition to awarding nearly $418.2 million in prizes to winners in Westmoreland, Butler, Philadelphia and Perry counties, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed nearly $275.2 million to programs serving older residents of those counties.

How to play Cash 5: To play Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are 1-in-962,598; the overall odds of winning any prize are about 1-in-10.5.
