Two Winning PA Lottery Tickets Worth Over $1.2 Million Soon to Expire

Powerball and Mega Millions Tickets Were Sold in Philadelphia

Middletown – Pennsylvania Lottery players, check your tickets: two prize-winning tickets sold in Philadelphia are nearing their one-year expiration dates. They are:

• A $1 million jackpot-winning Powerball® ticket sold at Loges Newsstand, 101 S. 18th Street, Philadelphia, for the Sept. 18, 2013 drawing. The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 07-10-22-32-35, but not the red Powerball 19. A claim must be filed with the Lottery by Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014.

• A $250,000 Mega Millions® ticket sold at Hansa News Stand, 3501 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, for the Sept. 27, 2013 drawing. The winning ticket correctly matched all five white balls, 09-23-27-49-51, but not the yellow Mega Ball 38. Because the expiration date for this prize falls on a weekend, a claim must be filed with the Lottery by Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.

All final prize amounts will be less 25 percent federal withholding.

“It’s essential for players to check every ticket, every time,” said Lottery Executive Director Sil Lutkewitte. “We hope these winning tickets are claimed before time runs out and the prizes expire.”

By law, unclaimed, expired lottery prizes remain in the Lottery Fund and are used to support programs benefiting older Pennsylvanians.

Players may check their own tickets using self-service scanners located at retailers and also found on Lottery self-service play terminals. The Lottery reminds players to sign tickets immediately upon their purchase for proof of ownership.

The Pennsylvania Lottery encourages claimants to sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a timely claim at any of Lottery’s seven area offices or at Lottery headquarters in Middletown, Dauphin County. Claims may be filed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at area Lottery offices and from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at headquarters.
