10 Reasons to Give New Year’s Millionaire Raffle as a Gift
Middletown, PA – With fewer than 10 days until Christmas, the Pennsylvania Lottery today listed 10 reasons to play and give the New Year’s Millionaire Raffle, a limited-edition game featuring 6,000 cash prizes totaling more than $5 million:
1) There will be four $1 million top prizes.
2) Four $100,000 second prizes, too.
3) Also, 100 prizes of $1,000.
4) Did we mention the 5,892 prizes of $100?
5) No matter how many tickets are sold, all prizes will be offered.
6) A Raffle ticket makes a great, no-wrapping-needed gift for anyone 18 or over.
7) Nobody has ever “re-gifted” a Raffle ticket for being the wrong size or color.
8) It’ll be a huge hit in the “Secret Santa” gift exchange at work.
9) Lottery proceeds benefit older Pennsylvanians, so it’s a gift that keeps on giving.
10) The January 2 drawing will be here before you know it.
Only 500,000 tickets are available and will be sold until 8 p.m. on the drawing date, January 2, or until sold out.
Winning numbers are randomly selected from among ticket numbers sold. If all available tickets are sold, each $20 ticket offers a 1 in 125,000 chance of winning one of the $1 million top prizes. The overall chances of winning any prize are 1 in 83.33.
Winning Millionaire Raffle numbers will be randomly selected after 8 p.m. on January 2 and announced after 10 p.m. at www.palottery.com. Players should also check their tickets using scanners found at Lottery retailers.
For the convenience of players who like to pool their ticket purchases with others, Millionaire Raffle Pool Play forms are available on www.palottery.com whenever the game is on sale.
First launched in 2005, Millionaire Raffle was originally offered twice a year but is now conducted four times annually. It was last drawn on Halloween.
