– Pennsylvania Lottery instant game winners claimed more than $170.3 million during March, including two prizes of $1 million claimed in McKean and Philadelphia counties.
“Our scratch-off games make new winners every day,” said Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “Last fiscal year, instant game winners claimed a total of over $1.9 billion in prizes.”
Other large scratch-off game prizes awarded in March included five prizes of $300,000; one $250,000 prize; and 10 prizes of $100,000.
Winner lists for all games are posted monthly in the Winners
section of palottery.com. The lists include all winners of $1,000 or more, although many prizes below that threshold were won. Current scratch-off games offer prizes ranging from a free ticket to $3 million.
Before purchasing a ticket, players should review the rules, prizes remaining and specific chances of winning for each instant game listed at palottery.com. The overall chances of winning any prize vary by game and are printed on the back of each instant ticket. Overall chances
are expressed across all tickets produced in a game and not by tickets sold per pack.
The chances of winning are not influenced by where a scratch-off ticket is purchased. Random distribution of tickets means the Pennsylvania Lottery and its retailers do not know where winning tickets will be sold.
The Pennsylvania Lottery remains the only state lottery to direct all proceeds to programs
that benefit older residents. Since ticket sales began in 1972, it has contributed nearly $27 billion to fund property tax and rent rebates, transportation, care services, prescription assistance, and local services including senior centers and meals.
