Treasure Hunt Reaches New Record Jackpot; Cash 5 Jackpot of $225,000 Won in Philadelphia
 
Middletown, PA – On Sunday, the jackpot for the Pennsylvania Lottery’s Treasure Hunt game rolled to a new record of $360,000 for the Monday, April 17, drawing. The previous record was a $266,300 prize won by two winning tickets on June 17, 2016. Treasure Hunt ticket sales end at 1:05 p.m. daily.
 
A jackpot-winning Pennsylvania Lottery Cash 5 ticket worth $225,000 from the Saturday, April 15, drawing was sold at Sunoco, 5810 N. Broad St., Philadelphia. It matched all five balls drawn, 05-08-23-25-28, to win $225,000, less applicable tax withholding. The retailer earns a $500 selling bonus.
 
Winners can be identified only after prizes are claimed and tickets validated. Cash 5 winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. Anyone holding a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket should promptly sign the back of the ticket, call the Lottery at 717-702-8146 and file a claim at the nearest Lottery office.
 
More than 31,600 other Cash 5 tickets also won prizes in the drawing. Players should check every ticket, every time, and immediately sign winning tickets. Lower-tier prizes may be claimed at a Lottery retailer.
 
In the 2015-16 fiscal year, in addition to awarding more than $310.9 million in prizes to winners in Philadelphia County, the Pennsylvania Lottery contributed more than $273.6 million to programs serving the county’s older residents.
 
How to play Treasure Hunt: Players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 30. Players may select their own numbers or opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. A day game, Treasure Hunt is drawn seven days a week and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Ticket sales end at 1:05 p.m. each day. Chances of winning the jackpot prize are 1 in 142,506; the overall chances of winning any prize are about 1 in 5.45.
 
How to play Cash 5: Players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers using a Cash 5 playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 drawings are held seven nights a week, and tickets can be purchased up to seven draws (one week) in advance. Chances of winning the jackpot prize are 1 in 962,598; the overall chances of winning any prize are about 1 in 10.5.
