Local Services, Senior Centers & Meals

Pennsylvania's 52 Area Agencies on Aging, or AAAs, cover all 67 counties and serve as the local representatives for the Pennsylvania Department of Aging.

In 2022-23, the Lottery contributed more than $263.2 million to Area Agencies on Aging to provide a wide range of local services.

These funds helped to provide 9 million meals served at senior centers and delivered to homes, averaging more than 24,641 meals for older Pennsylvanians, every day.

The 52 Area Agencies on Aging serve residents of all 67 counties. They administer senior centers and coordinate services at the local level, including:
  • Assessments & program referrals
  • Home-delivered meals
  • Health insurance counseling
  • Ombudsman services
  • Legal assistance
  • Protective services
  • Transportation
  • Senior centers
