Popular Triples Drawn In The Daily Number Mid-day Game

Middletown – March 31, 2011 - Pennsylvania Lottery players whose favorite Daily Number is 6-6-6 can count on a little extra money following today’s mid-day drawing.

The payout to Daily Number game players for the March 31 afternoon drawing totaled $1,709,475. A total of 6,882 tickets were sold for the winning number combination. A 50-cent wager on the Daily Number pays $250; a $1 wager pays $500.

Triple sixes have been drawn a total of 22 times since The Daily Number drawing began in March 1977. The last time 6-6-6 was drawn was May 5, 2010, in the evening draw. Aug. 18, 2010, was the last time any triples combination, 4-4-4, was drawn. This is the first time a triple has been drawn as the winning Daily Number this year.

Triples have been drawn a total of 174 times – 136 times in the evening drawings and 38 times in the mid-day drawings – since the debut of The Daily Number; 2010 holds the record for most triples drawn in a year with 14.
