Mount Pleasant, PA – Officials from the Pennsylvania Lottery and S & S Corner Market, a Lottery retailer, today presented a commemorative check to the winner of a $1.06 million jackpot-winning Match 6 Lotto ticket from the Thursday, July 13 drawing. The check presentation was held at S & S Corner Market, 106 Apollo Road, Mount Pleasant, where the winning ticket was sold. The store received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The lucky winner, 68-year-old Don Goulding Sr. of Westmoreland County, said he won around the time of his birthday.

“I bought the ticket after work, and discovered I won later that day after running some errands,” said Goulding. “I opened my tablet and saw that I got all six numbers! I must have looked at the ticket eight times to see if I was hallucinating. I couldn’t sleep that night.”

Goulding, who said he’s a part-time auto parts delivery driver, said he was excited to tell a friend who just so happened to be walking by his home at the time.

“She was shocked,” he said. “She said, ‘Oh my gosh I’ve never seen that before!’”

Goulding said the next day he visited the S & S Corner Market, where he purchased the winning ticket.
“I said, ‘You sold a winner last night!’” said Goulding.

“I play the lottery when the jackpots get big and will probably save most of this prize,” he added.
“Congratulations to Don and we wish him a happy belated birthday,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “We’d also like to congratulate our retailer, S & S Corner Market, for selling the big Match 6 winner. Thanks to our players and retailers, the PA Lottery is able to continue generating proceeds to pay for life-sustaining programs and services our senior population relies upon.”

“Congratulations to Don for winning this prize! We were so excited to be the ticket-selling location!” said Lori Dailey, S & S Corner Market owner. “Selling Lottery tickets at our location brings in more customers like Don, and that means we end up winning too because it creates more sales.”

This Match 6 jackpot run began on June 25, 2023, and lasted until July 13, 2023, generating more than $5.42 million in sales, and an estimated profit of $2.2 million for programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians.
The game’s record jackpot was a $7.3 million prize won by a single winning ticket sold in Cambria County for the Oct. 3, 2013, drawing.

Pennsylvania Lottery players have options to purchase their Match 6 Lotto tickets online or by visiting a retailer. Players can find lottery-selling locations closest to them by visiting the Find a Retailer section of the Lottery’s website.
