Estimated Powerball® Jackpot $1.4 Billion; $643.7 Million Cash Value for Saturday’s Drawing

Middletown, PA – With the Powerball® jackpot now sitting at $1.4 billion ($643.7 million cash value) ahead of Saturday’s drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery is recognizing four winning Powerball® tickets from the Wednesday, October 4 drawing that are worth a combined total of $3.2 million. This includes one prize worth $2 million sold in Luzerne County, one prize worth $1 million sold in Philadelphia. Two other prizes worth $100,000 each were sold in York and Allegheny counties.

Congratulations to CITGO, 2999 Bear Creek Boulevard, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, for earning a $10,000 bonus after selling the $2 million-winning Powerball® with Power Play® ticket, and to United Food Market, 500 East Walnut Lane, Philadelphia, for earning a $5,000 bonus after selling the $1 million-winning Powerball® ticket.

Additionally, congratulations to Turkey Hill, 1500 West Market St., York, York County, and Rite Aid, 209 Atwood St., Pittsburgh, Allegheny County. These retailers sold the $100,000 Powerball® with Power Play® winning tickets and each earned a $500 bonus.

The $2 million-winning Powerball® with Power Play® ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn, 9-35-54-63-64, to win $2 million, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play® option, the ticket would have been worth $1 million.

Additionally, the $1 million winning Powerball® ticket matched five of the five white balls drawn to win $1 million, less applicable withholding.

Finally, the two Powerball® with Power Play® tickets each matched four of the five white balls drawn and the red Powerball® 1 to win $100,000, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play® option, the tickets would have been worth $50,000 each. The Power Play® multiplier drawn was two.

Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. Winning tickets purchased at a Lottery retailer should immediately be signed on the back. Online winnings automatically appear in a player’s account after the claim has been processed. Players may visit palottery.com for more information about how to file a claim.

More than 186,000 other PA Lottery Powerball® tickets won prizes of various amounts in Wednesday’s drawing, including more than 37,700 tickets purchased with Power Play® and more than 16,100 tickets purchased with Double Play®. Players should check every ticket, every time.

In Pennsylvania, this recent jackpot run which began Saturday, July 22, 2023, has generated more than $95 million in sales, creating a profit of more than $38 million to benefit older Pennsylvanians.

The Powerball® jackpot was last won on July 19, 2023, by a single ticket in California that won a grand prize worth $1.08 billion. The last time a Powerball® jackpot was won in Pennsylvania was on August 3, 2022.

As mentioned above, the Powerball® jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $1.4 billion, or $643.7 million cash, for the next drawing Saturday, October 7. This prize ranks as the game’s third-largest jackpot and the fifth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot.

Pennsylvania Lottery players have options to purchase their Powerball® tickets online or by visiting a retailer. Players can find lottery-selling locations closest to them by visiting the Find a Retailer section of the Lottery’s website.
