On Saturday, October 7, two Powerball® with Power Play® winning tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn, 47-54-57-60-65, and the red Powerball® 19 to win $150,000, less applicable withholding. Then on Monday, October 9, four Powerball® with Power Play® winning tickets matched four of the five white balls drawn, 16-34-46-55-67, and the red Powerball® 14 to win $150,000, less applicable withholding. Without the $1 Power Play® option, the tickets would have been worth $50,000. The Power Play® multiplier drawn was three.
Congratulations to the following retailers who each earned a $500 bonus after selling the winning tickets from the October 9 drawing:
- Blose’s Market, 7070 Route 309, New Tripoli, Lehigh County;
- Turkey Hill, 4490 East Prospect Road, York, York County;
- GIANT Food Stores, 450 East Main St., Middletown, Dauphin County; and
- Country Fair, 161 Pleasant Drive, Warren, Warren County.
In both drawings, more than 469,000 other PA Lottery Powerball® tickets won prizes of various amounts, including 97,300 tickets purchased with Power Play® and 41,800 tickets purchased with Double Play®.
In Pennsylvania, this recent jackpot run which began Saturday, July 22, 2023, has generated more than $120 million in sales, creating a profit of more than $48 million to benefit older Pennsylvanians.
As mentioned above, the Powerball® jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $1.72 billion, or $756.6 million cash, for the next drawing Wednesday, October 11. This prize ranks as the second largest in history.
The Powerball® jackpot was last won on July 19, 2023, by a single ticket in California worth a grand prize worth $1.08 billion. The last time a Powerball® jackpot was won in Pennsylvania was on
August 3, 2022.
Winners are not known until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball® winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. Winning tickets purchased at a Lottery retailer should immediately be signed on the back. Online winnings automatically appear in a player’s account after the claim has been processed.
