Pennsylvania Lottery Announces Online Prize Drawing for a Chance to Win $1 Million

Middletown, PA – The Pennsylvania Lottery and officials with Powerball® today announced that PA Lottery players who play online may now enter into the Pennsylvania Lottery’s iLottery Prize Drawing for the Powerball® First Millionaire of the Year℠ promotion. This special drawing will provide the opportunity for online players to have a chance to win $1 million in a drawing occurring during the television broadcast of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. The drawing will take place shortly after the ball drops at midnight on New Year’s Eve. The winner will be named the “Powerball® First Millionaire of the Year” for 2021.
“We’re excited to offer this special drawing to our online players for a chance to win $1 million,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “We’re proud to be able to say that the PA Lottery is the only lottery in the U.S. that dedicates all of its proceeds to programs that benefit older adults. We wish our online players luck and as with all of our lottery products, we encourage them to play responsibly.”

Ten winners from this PA Lottery online promotion and another 40 winners from a Second-Chance Drawing that started in August will each win $2,020. The winners will also be entered into a drawing with semi-finalists from other participating lotteries for a chance to be one of five finalists who will receive a choice of two fabulous New Year’s Eve celebration prizes - a VIP trip to New York City or a Party@Home package, including an additional $12,500 cash prize - and be eligible to win $1 million in the special Powerball First Millionaire of the Year drawing.

The PA Lottery Online Prize Drawing will run through Wednesday, September 30. Players can earn entries into the drawing by purchasing Powerball® or Mega Millions® tickets online at or via the PA Lottery’s Official Mobile App.

The Pennsylvania Lottery is one of more than 25 U.S. lotteries participating in the Powerball First Millionaire of the Year promotion. Entry dates and requirements vary by participating lottery.
